Seshu Chalet

Seshu 雪舟

Pushing the limits on glass and timber, Seshu is designed to invite Niseko’s nature views inside. 5 ensuited bedrooms including a traditional Japanese tatami room (washitsu), media room, and expansive open living/dining/kitchen give an abundance of space to spread out and enjoy the holiday. And for full relaxation, the 16 person jacuzzi looking into the private garden is the perfect place to finish the day.

Our goal was to create a marriage of the alpine ski chalet with traditional Japanese elements, while also featuring the authentic materials of timber, stone, and concrete. The owner loves the contemporary look and incredible execution of Japanese exposed concrete, and feature elements are displayed in the large exterior blade wall, media room, and washitsu. The overhung roofline and huge south facing windows ensure passive solar gain, making this house more eco-friendly.
