Shiribetsu River is one of Japan's cleanest, and is popular for rafting and fishing.  The access to this site is a short, beautiful drive along its edge, making for a wonderful sense of arrival.  The building site is long and flattish, and many years ago used to house several houses (footprints visible on the block map).

Instillation of a water pipe is needed, as are septic tanks.  Located outside of the Quasi-City Planning Area, even with the size, no Development Approval (DA) is required.  The access road is considered to be a town road.  The section of land between the main town road and the train tracks is quite steep, and would be hard to develop due to access and topography.
