For a large group of friends or multiple and extended families, Zai-On is ideal for an extended holiday in Niseko. Zai-On 在恩 means “in the presence of grace”, which summarizes the owner’s gratitude for being able to gather with family and friends. This luxury holiday chalet in Hirafu Village is spread over 500sqm, and there are abundant options for socializing, and also space to find a quiet corner to read a book.

The top floor living/dining/kitchen area sits under ceilings up to 4.7m high, capturing sweeping views over Hirafu Village towards Mt. Yotei. Enjoy Hokkaido's crisp mountain air on the full width balcony, with a Weber gas BBQ and gas fire-pit. The double living room has one area with a wide format gas fireplace for more quiet relaxation, and the other with an 85” TV for entertainment. Cook up a storm in the large custom kitchen, which has full-sized Western appliances… or just sip wine at the island counter and enjoy the conversation. Add to the good vibes with the integrated Sonos sound system.

The entertainment room features a movie projector and Sonos sounds system, for a submersive entertainment experience. The bar and mini-kitchen mean you don’t have to go far for drinks or snacks. While soaking in the spa bath with jets and waterproof TV, slide open the full height door to feel the cool rush of clean mountain air. Rejuvenate yourself for the next day of activity by combining soothing sessions in the sauna.

Zai-On has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, and the 3 master bedrooms + ensuites are rare for a villa in Niseko. The bunk room sleeps up to six, with singles atop double beds, and there is also a tatami room for a more Japanese experience. Underfloor heating throughout keeps the toes warm on the coldest evening. Total capacity is 16 people.

The steel frame was employed to achieve large spaces and sweeping eaves. Warm wood tones are a common thread, complementing the impressive steel post and beams. From the built-in closets to the bedheads, extra care was taken to feature local craftsmanship. Contemporary Japanese furniture combines local tastes with Scandinavian influences. The statement piece is the solid camphor dining table, a native Japanese wood, and is ideal for enjoying languid dinners.

Located in the heart of Hirafu’s Middle Village, restaurants, watering holes, and shopping are just a moment’s walk away. In addition to a garage, there is a partial carport and heated driveway.
