About Taiga

We strive to deliver superb service and quality, with a personal touch.   Taiga has 3 business streams: project management, real estate, and property management.   We have a small team of dynamic professionals, who also love the outdoors, and enjoying interesting conversations.  We have a broad scope of works, so everyone does a little bit of everything.   The work is always changing, and we meet a large variety of different people every day, which makes it interesting.

- Property Management
Guest Services, handling bookings (email, web software), check-ins, check-outs, the occasional help to clean up the properties, owner assistance, etc.

- Office Duties
General administrative assistant, including answering phones, posting letters, hosting clients, helping to keep the place tidy, etc.

We are looking for a person who is self-motivated, and who can multi-task.  Preference will be give to bilingual English/Japanese candidates, but relevant experience also carries a lot of weight.

¥230,000~270,000 depending on skills and experience, plus bonus and benefits.

Depending on the profitability of the company, we normally pay the equivalent of 2 months bonus per year.

Paid holiday

15 days a year

Work Hours

Basically Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00, with a 1 hour lunch break. During tourism season, weekend work is also required.  A key reason we all live here is for the beautiful environment and lifestyle.  We encourage our staff to be active, and hours can be flexible.

If you are interested, please don’t hesitate to send an e-mail with your resume to: [email protected].

Taiga - The Movie

Explore the stunning 4 seasons of Niseko, Japan, and how nature in all her glory has woven itself into the fundamental fabric of our DNA here at Taiga. As year round residents, we are passionate about the Niseko - Kutchan area, and take every opportunity to celebrate the talented locals and beautiful scenery.

We are long time locals, and our Niseko surroundings influences our approach to every aspect of our work, from guiding a first time visitor to the best Niseko holiday accommodation, looking at a real estate investment, or embarking on the very deep and personal journey of designing and building a holiday home.

With over a year of collecting footage and in production, we would like to thank long time contributor Glen Claydon Photography for producing, as well as providing the stunning aerial footage that really shows Niseko, video footage of our projects, time-lapse footage and assistant editing, Shane Peel from My House Pictures for video footage and collaborating on the script, video editing and additional footage by Neil Hartmann, and additional footage by Satoru Chiba.

Thank you to everyone for your support, and enjoy!

Taiga is thrilled to announce that our 7 bedroom chalet project Hakuchōzan was voted by industry experts and winter enthusiasts as Japan's Best Ski Chalet 2018 at the World Ski Awards.   It is an honor to be counted amongst the best ski chalets in the world, and we are humbled by the recognition.  After being nominated in 2016 for World's Best New Ski Chalet and being nominated in 2017 for Japan's Best Ski Chalet, Hakuchōzan has finally gained full recognition for its unique position in the market.

"Hakuchōzan is the only ski chalet in Niseko that is fully staffed with 5 butlers/chauffeurs and a private chef that are on property around the clock to create sensational memories for our guests," said Michael Chen, the Chairman of HakuDevelopment and owner of Hakuchōzan. "The team curates every guest holiday down to every minute detail - from kid's slippers to guest birthday surprises. We are so honored to be recognized by our peers for the hard work and passion the entire Hakuchōzan team brings to make every holiday special for our guests."

Raising the bar for VVIP accommodations, Hakuchōzan has set a new standard of service in the Niseko market. From in-chalet ski fittings to Dom Perignon on arrival, Hakuchōzan spares no expense to ensure each guest leaves feeling that they were cared for like the closest of family members.

Hakuchōzan means "swan mountain" in Japanese. The owners of the property were engaged to be married at Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria which means New Swan Castle. As a tie to that special moment, they brought the theme of the swan to Niseko, Japan to represent love in its deepest form.

Hakuchōzan offers a masterful design combining seven stunning en-suited bedrooms with multiple luxurious living and entertainment spaces. A truly uniquely conceived property, Hakuchōzan is designed to accommodate multiple families, be child-friendly, while also being accessible to older generations. Conveniently located in the middle of Hirafu, Hakuchōzan guests are just steps away from the most popular bars and restaurants in the village.  Please contact us about any reservation requests at Hakuchōzan.

Owner Michael Chen travelled to Kitzbühel, Austria to collect the award.
