Iconic and international, Odin House is exhilarating architecture. Elm louvers float and curve on the underside of the unique wave roofline, the whole structure supported by steel posts that give 360 degree views of Mt. Yotei and Annupuri. Developer Odin Property Japan defines their approach as ‘intelligent luxury’, combining visually sumptuous lines and textures into a truly sublime private chalet. The massive expanse of glass, framed inside steel and concrete is undeniably modern, and yet the wood skin harkens to the surrounding mountain environment. Taking advantage of a challenging site, the five floors and 540 square metres are built into the hillside, giving each room private views.
Odin House is the culmination of an international collaboration of top architects and designers. The goal was to raise the bar for luxury chalets in Niseko, both in scale and quality of finish. More than just cosmetic deliberating, the demands of the structure required over a year of planning and engineering by some of the leading experts in Japan. The geo-thermal heat pump, LED light systems, and highly efficient glazing show the commitment to reducing the carbon footprint. Every material and finish was carefully examined and refined to achieve the best result possible.
