Talk about paradigm shift. What started as a small renovation on a weekend getaway house for the boys turned into a full house project for two young families. Fortunately, the bones were good at Konoha, so we could focus most of our energy on updating the interior design. The palette was kept simple - oak floors, ash wood counters, slate tiles, and the occasional feature wallpaper or plaster. Functional storage and dry room areas were of critical importance to meet the changing needs of the families. Although the exterior was not part of the original discussion, we felt it critical to add warm cedar wood to the entrance, to create a sense of arrival into the chalet.
