For its 3 bedrooms, Ginsetsu Chalet has one of the larger open plan concepts that you will find in Hirafu Village. It makes a great pad to camp out on holiday, or host friends for a night, with plenty of space to spread out. The flavour is distinctively Japanese, with a feature horigotatsu (traditional dining area), and tatami rooms, and wall finishings.
During the original renovation in 2008, the unique rafter system was preserved and turned into the focal point of the second floor living/dining/kitchen. Local Niseko area timbers were sourced for the table and counter tops – the beautiful elm, birch, and ash grains all adding their unique personality to the project. From the doors and shoji screens crafted by a local master to the dining table constructed on site, the extra touches on each timber add depth to the project. Traditional wall texturing, featuring several different patterns, are offset by simple white paint and traditional dark brown timbers.
